GHGA Data Protection Course for Human Research

  • Address: Virtual
  • Language: English
  • Registration necessary: Yes

GHGA is excited to invite you to our upcoming data protection course. The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of data protection regulations and obligations, specifically in the context of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

During the two hour course, we will cover the following key talking points:

  • What is personal data and special category personal data? We will explore the different types of data that are protected under the GDPR, including what makes data personal and why some forms of personal data are considered to be ‘special category’.
  •  What is the purpose of legal bases for processing and what are they?
  • Data processing roles and obligations: what roles are described in the GDPR, and what are the obligations of each role?
  • Data subjects' rights: what rights do data subjects have under the GDPR, and how can they exercise these rights?

GHGA believe this course will be particularly valuable to anyone who works with personal data, including medical data.

It is free to attend, but as we only have limited space, we ask interested candidates to apply - via this registration link.
After we review your application, we will send you the details for joining the virtual course.
